People in the Protectorate leave a baby for the witch who lives in the forest every year in this story. The people in this town hope that this sacrifice will keep her from making the town dangerous. Xan is nice and welcoming. Someone smart named Glerk and a very small dragon named Fyrian live with her. Xan finds the kids who were left behind and takes them to families on the other side of the forest who are happy to have them. He feeds the babies with stars on the way. One year, Xan feeds a baby moonlight instead of starlight by accident, which gives the normal kid magical powers. Xan makes up her mind that she has to raise this magical girl, whom she calls Luna, as her own. Xan locks her magic deep inside her to protect Luna from her own weak power. As Luna gets closer to her thirteenth birthday, her magic starts to show up on time. A true Fantasy story!!!
